Tricks? Or treats??

Isabella and her cousin, Mason
How can you be afraid of bats when they're this darn cute?

Great-Ma and Gammy with the munchkins

Cousins

Dorothy (aka Isabella) and her scarecrow (aka Cousin Lucas)

Papa and Gammy with the kiddos

Dorothy and Gabriella (aka Mallory)
There's no place like home
The girls had a great time trick-or-treating. When we started out it was fairly warm and we didn't really need jackets, but by the time we got home it turned cold and the girls were pooped. Mallory even said when we got home, "I am so tired. I think I need to go to bed." We went to a few houses around Round Lake and then drove into Worthington to Great-Ma's and my boss'. It was close to 9 before we got home. And the girls didn't get too much candy so at least Isabella won't have a mouth of cavities. I don't think Mallory's even had 3 pieces out of her bag. She's just not a candy lover. Hope you all had a safe Halloween!

Spa Party

Here's just a little preview of what the weather has been like this week and how we've been prepared. Isabella got this rain coat and boats from Gammy and Papa for her birthday and I'm surprised it still fits her. She LOVED it!!

Had a fun night last night being pamperd at my house during the Spa Party with my good friends, Stacie, Stacey, Dawn and Kristie. Thanks girls for coming and thanks Rebecca for pampering us for a night! Here are a few pictures of how beautiful we were becoming with all the treatments:

So it has been nice and cold here in our little Minnesota town. It has been raining ALL DAY and I don't think it's going to stop anytime soon. We have not been doing much. We made a visit to the Poppe's Pumpkin Patch the first weekend in October. I will post some pictures of that soon. The girls each got their own pumpkin and I got a big one for Eric to carve closer to Halloween. Bella is going to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz since that is her favorite movie at the moment. Mallory is going to be a princess AGAIN.

Eric and I also attended Luke and Kelley's wedding a couple weeks ago. Eric was an usher so we spent the whole weekend in Tea and Brandon attending festivities for that. We had a good time with old friends we haven't seen in awhile.

I know, I know. I haven't posted in a LONG time, but I promise I will try and keep everyone up to date more often from now on. We have so much going on in our lives it's hard to find the time to squeeze everything in.

Mallory started her first day of First Grade last week and so far she is really liking it. We are looking at some different ways of improving her ability to hear in the classroom and hope they work better than last year. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Riley and I think it's going to be a great year for her.

Last week we also lost a dear friend of ours, Greg Gorter. He was a groomsman in our wedding and basically taught Eric how to do his job. He was a one of a kind person and there will never be anyone like him. He fell down a flight of stairs and broke his neck. What a tragic way to go. The funeral was very sad, but also very moving at the same time. Also very large, around 500 people at the funeral and around 6-700 at the visitation. He obviously touched very many people.

Other than that, not much else going on right now. I will post some new pictures of Mallory's 1st day of school when I get a chance.

Back at it again

Okay so it's been awhile since I've updated. I guess I'm not as faithful of a blogger as some people. But I PROMISE I will try and keep it more current from now on.
Lots has been happening since I last posted. The girls are really enjoying their summer.
My parents recently bought a pontoon so we were able to take it out on the Fourth for a test drive. As you can see we all enjoyed it immensely.

Eric and I also just returned from our annual Nascar trip. The race was a lot easier to take in this year since it was a night race and A LOT cooler than sitting out there during the day during the sweltering heat. We went with a group of friends and we all had a great time. Maybe too great???!!

Let's see...what else...I think that about wraps things up so far. We have a couple of weddings coming up towards the end of the summer but so far our schedule is now pretty clear. We have been so busy it seems like we're never home. But that's what the summers are for, right??

So I FINALLY found my USB cable to add some pictures from the other day at the park. It's amazing what I can find when I actually clean my house. These first few pictures are Mallory and Bella on the slide. It went really fast so Bella wasn't too sure about it.

Bella still likes to swing in the baby swing even though she's a little too big for it.

Mallory on the purple dinosaur.

We had a pretty busy weekend. Mallory had a doctor's appointment with her neurologist in Sioux Falls on Friday so Eric and I took her over and did a little shopping and feasted at Red Lobster. We got home just in time to unload our groceries and then head over to our good friends' house for their sons' birthdays. It was so much fun-full of craziness with the kids, but fun none the less. We stayed later than we should have.
Saturday morning I got to watch my nephew for a couple of hours. The girls came with so they enjoyed being able to play with their cousin. They all took pretty good naps while we were there.
Mallory had a sleep over Saturday night with her friend, Cali. They had a lot of fun. And Isabella was even able to sleep with them in Mallory's room. We took Cali to church with us today and I think Mallory really enjoyed have her friend there. It was another beautiful day, windy, but warm and sunny.

I am now officially a blogger!

So I have decided to become a blogger! I have enjoyed reading others blogs so thought it might be fun for others to see what it's like being in the Oye family for a day. Not much to blog about on my first day though...

We finally had a nice day today with not as much wind as yesterday. Even though it wasn't as warm as yesterday it was still nice enough to hit the park. Mallory went on the monkey bars, the slide and the swings. I even managed to give her an underdog!! Bella likes to still swing in the baby swings even though she is a little too big for them. She went down the slide a couple of times but I think it was just a little too fast for her. I took a few pictures, but cannot seem to find the box for my camera that has my USB cable in it to post them. My house is a disaster so maybe that explains why I can't find it. As soon as I do, I promise I will post some pictures of the park.

Eric is in Hutchinson tonight so I get the bed all to myself! Yeah!! I do dread having to get the girls up and ready alone tomorrow though. It is such a hassle and we NEVER manage to get out the door before 8:30, which is the time I'm SUPPOSED to be at work.

Still no baby Ahrenstorff yet. Waiting to hear the news on that! Anybody want to start a wager on when the little bugger will arrive?? And the sex???
